What is the Deal?

Awesome Planet is a webcomic I started working on in January 2008 and started publishing here in March. It is about discovering that you have a crappy superpower and wondering what to do with it. It updates with a new page once a week, on Fridays (and sometimes, if you’re feeling lucky, on Mondays).

Edit: Right now (June 2009) the entirety of "part one" is availible in the archives and Awesome Planet is slowly rolling into part two!

Plot summary

Meet Jay! He discovers that he has the ability to slow himself down in relation to the rest of the world, so that he appears to move in slow-motion while everything appears to move super-fast to him. He also has the ability to ignore the fact that the above power is completely useless and to believe that it is "totally awesomezorz".

The story begins with Jay rushing to tell his friends Cox and Hank about his new "superpower", only to find out that they've secretly sported (much more useful) superpowers for months. Jay tries to convince them that they’ve taken entirely the wrong track in discreetly trying to work out the source of their superhuman abilities (with the help of local genius Frank) and that they should be out doing "AWESOME THINGS" with their "AWESOME POWERZ!" Conveniently enough, ninja-robots turn up at around the same time and start causing havoc in their home town.
