Hello, I'm Jakob Burrows, and in late 2008 I decided to make an episodic live-action Christmas show. I shanghaied some friends into helping me and started production immediately, without even finishing a script. We called it "Det finns ingen jultomte", which translates as "There is no Santa Claus". We were infected with hubris and the project died after three out of a planned six episodes were finished.
(I like to think that) I've developed as a storyteller and filmmaker since last year, and I now look at the old material and go: "What the hell was I thinking?" To be honest I'd like to forget about the whole project. Unfortunately, before the show died it somehow managed to build a fanbase, and that fanbase has been unrelenting its nagging for the end of the story. So now, around Christmas 2009, I'm trying to finish it so that we can all get on with our lives.
It's going to be finished through a combination of old footage, comics and animation.
BUT REMEMBER that if you stop commenting I'll probably stop working. This whole thing runs on comments. It is the fuel that drives this death rattle of a project.
